These King Tubby recordings - a suite of rather laid-back rhythms - date from 1974-78. They were locked in one of Tubby's closets for over a decade before a 1990 release. The sessions pack Robbie Shakespeare, Lloyd Parks, Sly Dunbar, Augustus Pablo and Ansel Collins and more - essentially the full Channel One and Tubby axis in unified operation. Aside from the better known Scientist and Tubby, Bunny Tom Tom and Barnabas were key Kingston engineers, and they lend the tape a reined-in, radio-friendly quality.
